* Ammonium Ion- Typical levels are less than 10 g/l. The system is designed to rinse the ammonia out before it gets to the EW cell. Whatever amount does get into the electrolyte is removed by a bleed stream.

** The most important parameters in running the EW cell are maintaining the acid level and the copper level within the prescribed range.
